We are committed to providing the best all-around fishing experience on Lake Whitney. We have been offering full service guided fishing trips since 2002. Our focus is on giving our fishing clients the most comfortable and enjoyable fishing experience available. Experience is not necessary and we love to help teach new anglers and first-timers alike, no matter their age. We offer snacks and drinks on our four hour charters and a light lunch on our all day trips at no additional charge. We fish for Striped Bass, White Bass, three species of Catfish, and two species of Crappie, but these are only a few of the many species available in Lake Whitney. There are Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and Spotted Bass. Some of the toughest and largest fish aren't even usually mentioned. These would be: Alligator Gar, Needlenose Gar, Buffalo, and Carp. Many times we catch these other species while targeting other fish.
Lake Whitney Information
Lake Whitney is located on the main stem of the Brazos River and is part of the Three Rivers Region in the Fort Worth District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Construction began on the dam in May 1947 and was completed in December 1951; it has a surface area of 23,500 acres and a maximum depth of 108 feet. It is located approximately 30 miles north of Waco, Texas, and 65 miles southwest of Fort Worth, Texas. Lake Whitney is often called The Getaway Capital of Texas because it remains one of the best kept secrets in the state. Compared to other Texas lakes, usage is quite low. It sits on the edge of the Texas Hill Country and has beautiful white rock bluffs and cliffs. The water is clear, blue, and deep, attracting visitors seeking water activities like scuba diving, water skiing, sailing, not to mention fishing.
